Asset and Building Operations Management

The Asset and Building Operations Management course is designed to give participants an understanding of Facility Management System (FMS)’s capabilities for lifecycle asset management. After a brief overview, the course provides in-depth, hands-on experience focused on teaching the data requirements, industry standards, and business processes for maintaining an inventory of assets from acquisition to disposal (decommissioning).

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand asset types, components, and industry standards

  • Understand asset registration and commissioning

  • Link to CAD drawings or BIM models

  • Perform condition assessment and disposal analysis

  • Understand system, problem, and workflow definition

  • Perform corrective maintenance (or on demand work)

  • Perform preventive maintenance

Prerequisites:

  • Basic facility management knowledge
